Compatible Connection Types

This strap is designed for cameras equipped with a standard round strap lug or eyelet — the most common connection point found on mirrorless cameras. It is not designed for use with quick-release plates, proprietary bayonet connectors, or rectangular bar-style lugs.

Step-by-Step Attachment Instructions

  1. Locate the strap lug (round eyelet) on your camera body.
  2. Thread the looped end of the cotton weave string through the camera's strap lug from the outside in.
  3. Pass the free end of the string back through its own loop to form a lark's head (girth hitch) knot, and pull firmly until the knot seats flush against the lug.
  4. Slide your wrist through the main loop, then adjust the PU leather stopper to snug the strap securely around your wrist — it should feel firm but comfortable, with no slack.
  5. Give the strap a firm tug (not a jerk) to confirm the knot and stopper are holding before lifting the camera.

Important: This wrist strap is designed to supplement — not replace — a secure camera mount. Always ensure your camera body is properly mounted to any tripod, plate, or other support before use. The strap provides an additional safeguard against accidental drops during handheld use only.

Pre-Use Safety Checklist

Perform this check every time before use, and especially after the strap has been washed or stored for an extended period:

  • ☐ Knot integrity: Confirm the lark's head knot at the strap lug is fully seated and has not loosened.
  • ☐ String condition: Inspect the full length of the cotton weave string for fraying, cuts, discolouration, or thinning. Do not use if any damage is found.
  • ☐ PU leather stopper: Verify the stopper slides freely but holds its position under light tension with no slipping.
  • ☐ Camera lug: Check that the camera's strap lug or eyelet is free of cracks, corrosion, or looseness. If the lug is screw-mounted, confirm the screw is fully tightened before attaching the strap.
  • ☐ Connection tightness: After attaching, give the assembled strap a firm, controlled tug. If any part shifts, re-seat and re-check before proceeding.

Care Guidance

  • Hand wash in cold water with mild soap; do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Air dry flat, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can weaken cotton fibres and cause the PU leather to crack.
  • Do not bleach or use solvent-based cleaners on the leather stopper.
  • Store loosely coiled in a dry location. Avoid compressing the strap under heavy objects.
  • Inspect for wear after every wash and replace the strap if any degradation is found.

Note: No independent load-rating test results are currently available for this strap. Until verified test data from our supplier is received, treat this strap as a comfort and drop-prevention aid during normal handheld photography, not as a primary load-bearing safety device for heavy camera systems.
